The first settlement in Tottenham is believed to have been in the early 1800s. Tottenham was so named after Alexander Totten, its first postmaster. This railway remains in Tottenham to this day, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to ride a restored steam train along the countryside.
In 1895, the town was rocked by a large fire which destroyed the business district however the town rallied and rebuilt the area quickly.
Tottenham offers so many options for those who love the great outdoors. The community centre provides areas for swimming, skating, and hockey as well as a park for adults and children to enjoy.
