Welcome to 81 Wandering Trail, a beautifully maintained home in Toronto’s Rouge neighbourhood with four bedrooms, four washrooms, and breathtaking views of Rouge National Urban Park right from its backyard.
A brick home with a double car garage, front yard garden beds, and an interlocking walkway to an enclosed front entrance - through the double door entry is an inviting foyer finished with ceramic flooring, the tiles laid on the diagonal and continued throughout the main and side hallways as they flow into the kitchen area.
The main level showcases generously sized principal rooms, all with their own distinct space - and to the foyer’s right is the formal living room. A lovely entertaining area with ample space for multiple conversation areas, windows with a southwesterly exposure along the turret wall flood the room with natural light - and with a soft neutral colour palette, this room has a fresh, airy aura.
The living, dining, and family rooms, are finished with updated hardwood flooring, as is the den - which, having a door for privacy, is also ideal for as a home office. The formal dining room exudes classic elegance, with this intimate entertaining space featuring the ambient lighting of a chandelier, and a French door entry into the kitchen.
A powder room is found off a side hall across from the dining area, this hall also leading into the family room - while the main hallway continues into the breakfast and kitchen areas. Both of these spaces are incredibly bright, with the beautifully updated kitchen showcasing an upgraded crystal light fixture; crisp white cabinetry with great storage; quartz counters and back splashes; a double wide stainless steel under mount sink with a gooseneck faucet; as well as stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, oven with smooth surface cooktop, and a French door fridge with bottom mount freezer. The window above the sink offers gorgeous outdoor views, and direct access to the dining room is a wonderful entertaining convenience - while the northeast-facing breakfast area is brightened by an elegant light fixture, and natural light through two skylights, two corner windows, as well as a sliding door walk-out — which opens onto a large raised deck in the backyard, where the natural beauty of Rouge National Urban Park can be enjoyed year-round.
The family room also enjoys views of the national parklands - and this spacious yet cozy casual gathering area has the added warmth of a wood-burning fireplace surrounded by an elegant white mantle and finished with a tiled hearth.
Pot lights brighten the main hallway, and the side hall off the foyer is where you find access to the garage, a coat closet, and a laundry room. This home also features an unfinished lower level with oversized above grade windows, and which has amazing potential for future recreational and entertaining space; and to the upper level is a curved staircase illuminated by a chandelier and having a more modern colour contrast of greyish tone treads and railings with white risers and spindles - with the railing continued along the upper hallway.
The upper level showcases updated hardwood flooring and a bright neutral colour palette throughout, four spacious bedrooms, and three washrooms - with the second and third bedrooms having large double closets. The common-use 4-pc washroom features a vanity with countertop basin, and a ceramic-tiled bath area with sliding glass and mirrored doors - and the three washrooms on this level are all finished with vinyl plank flooring. The fourth bedroom can accommodate a sitting area by its turret wall, which has three southwest facing windows - and this bedroom also features a large double closet, as well as a 4-pc ensuite washroom.
The generously sized master bedroom is flooded with natural light through its two northeast-facing windows, which also offers views of the breathtaking outdoor vistas. Featuring a walk-in closet and space for a sitting area, this beautiful retreat also showcases a 4-pc ensuite washroom with a shower area with glass door and a corner jetted tub, both which have ceramic-tiled finishes; two large windows, and a wall-to-wall vanity with great toiletry storage.
A short walk to Heritage Park Public School, this home is also close to places of worship, banquet halls, the Malvern Town Centre Mall, and the Malvern Community Recreation Centre - with golf courses, the Toronto Zoo, a hospital, U of T and Centennial College campuses, the Scarborough Town Centre Mall, and access to Hwy 401 all short drives away - while just beyond the backyard’s chain link fence are the rolling landscapes of Rouge National Urban Park and the Rouge River as it winds it way south to Lake Ontario.
