Waterdown

Ebenezer Culver Griffin founded Waterdown in 1823 and is credited with giving the village its name. Waterdown emerged and grew during the industrial revolution and was incorporated as a village in 1879.

After almost a hundred years standing on its own, Waterdown was amalgamated with larger surrounding areas. First with the Township of Flamborough in 1974 and then with the City of Hamilton in 2001.
