Welcome to 14 Atherton Avenue, a beautiful four bedroom detached brick home with four washrooms nestled on a premium sized corner property within Northwest Ajax’s family-minded Meadow Ridge community. The driveway offers two vehicle parking in addition to the attached double car garage; the exterior is partially accented with a lower stone facade; while wrapping around the east and south sides of the home is the traditional charm of a covered front porch lined with perennial gardens, and a stone walkway from the driveway to the double front entrance.
The ceramic flooring of the sunken foyer continues into the reception hall, while dark hardwood flooring adds rich warmth to the living, dining, and family rooms - the formal living room showcasing a coffered ceiling with crown moldings and pot lighting, as well as California shutters on its windows. This room enjoys the natural brightness of its east- and south-facing exposures, with the remaining principal rooms bathed in natural light from either south- or west-facing exposures. Separating the formal living and dining rooms from the foyer are half walls with accent columns - the dining room having the added elegance of a modern chandelier, with this beautiful entertaining space, the kitchen, the family room, and the reception area, also showcasing crown moldings, pot lighting, and California shutters on the windows and exterior doors. Accent columns grace the entry into a stunning family room that has the added coziness of a gas fireplace - the stacked stone feature wall accentuating the elegant simplicity of its mantle.
The equally stunning kitchen - a showpiece of modern elegance that will delight the home chef - showcases mosaic-tiled back splashes and stone counters paired with dark-coloured cabinetry; a two-drawer French door fridge, double sink, dishwasher, range hood, and an oven with gas cooktop incorporate the cool sleekness of stainless steel; while ceramics finish the flooring of both the kitchen and its spacious breakfast area. The garden door walk-out opens onto a stone patio in the fully fenced and generously sized backyard - which has a storage shed, and plenty of space to realize your dream outdoor retreat - be it vegetable gardens, additional entertaining areas, or an in-ground pool.
With a Cathedral ceiling and open to the above level, the foyer is illuminated by a timeless chandelier and natural light through two south-facing second storey windows - and off the reception hall is a coat closet; a sunken laundry room with a front load washer and dryer, cabinetry storage, a secondary side door entry, and access to the garage; as well as a powder room with a Euro-style vanity - this and the laundry room both finished with ceramic flooring. The dark-stained oak hardwood staircases to both the upper and lower levels have railings with wrought iron pickets - the upper level showcasing dark hardwood flooring throughout; crown moldings in the hallway; a skylight above the staircase; as well as four spacious bedrooms and two washrooms, all which have California shutters on their windows. The second bedroom enjoys an east-facing exposure, while the third and fourth bedrooms enjoy a south-facing exposure - the third bedroom also having a set of east-facing windows - all three of these bedrooms additionally featuring ceiling fans and ample closet storage; and a linen closet is conveniently located right outside the main 4-pc washroom.Exceptional in its size, the beautiful master suite has a niche that makes a lovely sitting area, with warm afternoon light spilling in through the west-facing windows along this wall. Also featuring a ceiling fan and a walk-in closet - this very private retreat showcases an ensuite washroom with ceramic finishes throughout, a jetted tub, a shower area with glass door, and a vanity with a stone counter and upgraded lighting.
Fully finished, the lower level showcases wooden flooring and pot lighting throughout its recreation area, as well as abundant household storage. Accent columns divide this level into two distinct spaces - the smaller of the two ideal as a personal space - the larger, main recreation area having a bar, a theatre room, and a 2-pc washroom.
