Nestled on a prestigious cul-de-sac, and an incredibly spacious 4+1 bedroom brick executive home with four washrooms that backs onto a ravine setting within Pickering’s sought-after Liverpool community, welcome to 854 Baylawn Drive.

Featuring an interlocking driveway and steps to the front entrance - beyond the front doors is a main level showcasing oversized polished floor tiles in the foyer, main hallway, and its related spaces; decorative crown moldings and pot lighting are also featured throughout much of this level; while generously sized principal rooms with an easy flow between spaces make entertaining a delight.

The formal entertaining spaces of the living and dining rooms are open to each other - the dining room illuminated by an elegant light fixture, and having a French door entry into the kitchen. Its window, and the four windows along the living room’s south-facing turret wall, have California shutters - these, and most of the windows on this level, graced with arched transoms.

The living, dining, and family rooms are all finished with hardwood flooring - the family room also having the added coziness of a wood-burning stone fireplace, and a Palladian-style window for backyard and ravine views.

The custom kitchen is incredibly bright, and a gorgeous showpiece of functionality and storage - combining a modern light-coloured decor and the sleekness of stainless steel with the traditional warmth of wood - all tied together with the earthen tones of its tiled floor.

Stainless steel pendant lights hang above a raised breakfast bar along the peninsula; the countertops are quartz, and are paired with subway-tiled back splashes; stainless steel appliances include an oven with gas cooktop, built-in dishwasher and microwave, and a French door fridge; while the wood base cabinets have grooved centre panels, as does the huge wall pantry in the breakfast area.

The arched windows in this space all allow for outdoor views of the backyard - which has a large interlocking stone patio with two distinct entertaining areas, as well as chain link fencing at the rear of the property for unobstructed views of the ravine.

Next to the fridge is a secondary pantry that co-ordinates with the white upper cabinets, most which have a stacked upper tier with interior accent lighting, as does the wood wall pantry - all the upper cabinets finished with crown moldings, as well.

Off the main hallway is a French door entry into the laundry room, which has cabinetry and closet storage, plus access to the double car garage; and a double coat closet is directly across from the powder room. The foyer features an upgraded light fixture - while curving gracefully to both the upper and lower levels are staircases with oak hardwood treads and railings.

The upper level showcases hardwood flooring throughout; pot lighting and a linen closet in the hallway; four very spacious bedrooms; as well as three updated washrooms.

The second and third bedrooms each have multiple windows and south-facing exposures; these, and the fourth bedroom, all have upgraded light fixtures, double closets, and sitting and/or study areas; with the fourth bedroom additionally featuring a 3-pc ensuite washroom.

The common-use 3-pc washroom features upgraded tiled finishes, a glass shower, and a vanity with a quartz counter - and is also a semi-private ensuite washroom for the third bedroom.

Through a double door entry lies the master suite - this generously sized personal retreat showcasing a sitting area along the turret section of its north wall of windows. This bedroom enjoys exceptional views of the ravine setting beyond the backyard; also features pot lighting, plus a very large walk-in closet with organizers and an upgraded light fixture - and its spa-like ensuite washroom showcases tiled finishes throughout, including gorgeous mosaic accent borders and back splashes; pot lighting; a soaker tub; a glass shower with a wall niche and shower seat; a linen closet; as well as a wall-to-wall vanity with a quartz counter, under mount basins, and upper cabinets with matching mirrors and accent lighting.

The lower level is finished with vinyl plank flooring throughout, and off the lower landing is both a storage room, and a separate cold room. The recreation area features pot lighting and a gas fireplace; there is a bonus room with a single closet - and with a separate walk-up entrance to the backyard, this space has potential for future conversion into a basement apartment.

This home is just a short drive to the Pickering Town Centre Mall, the GO Station, and has easy access to Hwy 401 - as well as being close to the shopping, entertainment, and waterfront enjoyment of Pickering’s beautiful Frenchman’s Bay community along Lake Ontario.

Pickering

In the fifteenth century, Pickering was home to the Aboriginal group known as the Huron. European settlement began in the area in the early seventeenth century, with most early British settlers moving into the area after defeating the French in the Seven Years’ War. The British named the town Pickering after the town in North Yorkshire, England.

In the early 1810s, there was a large increase of settlement from a large group of Quaker immigrants that came to the area from the Eastern United States. More recently, Toronto’s continuing growth has led to Pickering’s rapid growth.
