It is one of the major tourist attractions between Niagara Fall and Toronto. More than 1,100 species of plants grow within the 980 hectares of nature sanctuary. The Art Gallery of Burlington opened in 1978 as a venue to develop dedicated studios for photography, hand weaving and spinning, sculpture and woodcarving, ceramics, fine arts, and hooking craft for regional artists. The scope of the gallery quickly expanded, and has now become an award winning gallery that sets the stage for as many as 12 exhibitions a year as well as providing art education programs and public tours for people of all ages.
The Art Gallery of Burlington has eight studios, three galleries, a gift shop, an exhibition courtyard and year round conservatory.
