Adjala–Tosorontio
Adjala-Tosorontio was a merger between townships of Adjala and Tosorontio after an amalgamation in 1994. It is a rural area small villages and hamlets inspired by the origins of Irish settlers and has developed to become a residential area for people commuting to greater Toronto. It is below the Niagara Escarpment and has beautiful rolling countryside with the Nottawasaga river cutting across.
There are numerous communities within the area with Loretto being the oldest. As a result, the oldest and most famous tavern in the area Loretto Inn. There are numerous recreational outlets with numerous parks, playgrounds, community halls, walking tracks, baseball and soccer fields.

Adjala–Tosorontio
The township came to be after a merger in 1993 which was followed by amalgamation between the townships of Adjala and Tosorontio in 1st January 1994. The hamlets in the township are based and named by Irish Catholics and pioneer families after their home towns in Ireland. Tosorontio is a Huron word for beautiful mountain while Adjala was named after the wife of Chief Tecumseh.

The township of Adjala-Tosorontio has fourteen parks, two indoor community halls and has playgrounds and walking tracks. There is a robust soccer program in the town and numerous soccer fields as well as baseball which has a big following in the town.
For the art lovers, there is Floral Arbor and Archway Intensive and there are nature days for homeschoolers. There are numerous retreats for health and wellness and for community and culture, there is an annual day on the farm and Mother’s Day high tea. The township has ski resorts, golf clubs, resorts, retreat centers and campsites.
