Formerly, the townships of Rama and Mara were two separate townships, and were joined together to form Ramara. Rama Township, before it amalgamated with Mara Township, was separated to create the Mnjikaning First Nation 32 Indian Reservation, home to the Chippewas of Mnjikaning First Nation. The main area of the reservation is referred to as Rama as well, and houses the area’s largest attraction, Casino Rama.
One of the main attractions in Ramara is the Casino Rama. If you enjoy gambling, Casino Rama offers a wide range of all of your favourite games. The Casino also hosts live entertainment of some of the largest musical or comedic acts within their theatre. If you get hungry, choose from eight dining establishments to suit your preference and price range. You can also choose to stay the night in the Casino Rama Hotel, which includes a spa, gym, and swimming pool.
